David Zhang is CEO and CIO of Ginkgo Global. David has 19 years’ experience investing in public and private companies. He started his career as strategic consultant at Roland Berger and later moved on to investment roles at TDF Ventures and Bain Capital.
With over 20 years’ non-stop, diligent reading and over 10 years’ practice of Tai Chi. David believes that a long-lasting investment firm can be built only with a dedication to a value-driven investment philosophy.
David names his investment firm after the ginkgo tree, a living fossil with expected life lasting for centuries and growing gradually towards the sky by anchoring deeply into the soil. Ginkgo Global will grow its business in the same way and with a global reach.
David has a Bachelor’s degree from Huazhong University of Science and Technology. He is also alumni of Harvard Business School in the Senior Executive Leadership Program.
